Using Vaddio PTZ

Vaddio video conferencing systems include a camera and ceiling microphones for conducting video sessions (e.g. Adobe Connect and Blackboard Collaborate meetings), as well as audio and video recording (e.g. Panopto). The camera has PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) capabilities, which allows users to position the camera to best fit the scenario. To access these AV controls for the system, first determine the computer access available for your room:

  • Rooms with a podium computer

    • Log into the computer

    • Open your video application (e.g. Adobe Connect, Blackboard Collaborate, Panopto, etc.)

    • Continue with the instructions below

  • Rooms without a podium computer

    • Connect the USB cable labeled "video conference", which should be located in the podium cable cubby

    • Log into the computer.

    • Open your video application (e.g. Adobe Connect, Blackboard Collaborate, Panopto, etc.)

    • Continue with the instructions below

1. Launch a web browser (e.g. Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox).

2. In the address bar, enter the URL for the room's video conferencing system, which should be in the following format: https://ROOMNUMBER-VC.cui.edu (e.g. https://BMCCC118-VC.cui.edu, https://BMCCC220-VC.cui.edu, https://LAT123-VC.cui.edu, etc.).

3. The web interface for the camera will load, allowing you to enter credentials to access the controls.

4. Enter the following credentials:

    • Username: user

    • No password necessary.

5. The video and audio control page will load, allowing you to adjust the camera positioning and settings as you prefer. In order to see the changes to the camera positioning, toggle back and forth between the video application (e.g. Adobe Connect, Blackboard Collaborate, Panopto, etc.) you previously opened and test as necessary.
