Creative Cloud

Staff and Faculty may be provided with various Adobe products depending on responsibilities, enrollment, and/or circumstances. To use these Adobe products, you will need to sign in to the Creative Cloud application:

Note: If you have a personal Adobe account associated with your CUI email address, please contact ITS at ITS@cui.edu or (949) 214-3175 for further assistance.

  • Open the Creative Cloud desktop application (or install it here if using a personal device).

  • Click "Continue with Google" instead of entering your email address right away.

  • In the new browser tab that opens, log into your CUI account with your email address, E#, and password.

  • When finished, you can close the tab and return to the Creative Cloud application. You are now signed in and able to access and license your Adobe products.

4. Once logged in, your locally installed Adobe applications will be licensed. If you only use the locally installed applications (most users), you can close the Creative Cloud Desktop Application, which will minimize it and keep it running in the background.

If you have access to certain web services, some may be available via the various categories in the Creative Cloud Desktop Application while others will need to be directly accessed through their respective portals on Adobe's website.

Services that are directly accessed through Adobe's website will also utilize your CUI email address to prompt a redirection before requiring your CUI credentials to log in.

Customizing Preferences (Optional)

1. Click on the three dots icon in the upper left-hand corner to access the Settings menu.

2. Select "Preferences" from the drop-down menu.

3. The "General" section allows you to edit various features related to the Creative Cloud Desktop Application itself, including deciding if you would like automatic launching or notifications to occur.

NOTE: We do not recommend disabling "Launch at login" or "Always keep Creative Cloud desktop up to date" because doing so can cause issues with licensing for your other Adobe applications.

4. The "Creative Cloud" section allows you to edit various sync features, including file and font syncing.

NOTE: For Creative Cloud file syncing, there is an allotment of 20 GB per user. For backup purposes, we recommend using Google Drive, which has unlimited storage using your CUI employee account.
