2-Step Verification Setup
To configure 2-Step Verification for your account, do the following:
1. Log into your CUI Gmail account (mail.cui.edu for Faculty/Staff and eagles.cui.edu for Students).
2. Click on the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner of your browser window.
3. A drop-down menu will appear. Click on "Settings."
4. The "Settings" page will load. Click on the "Accounts and Import" option (between "Inbox" and "Filters and Blocked Addresses").
5. Click on "Google account settings" in the "Change account settings" section.
6. A new page will load. Under the "Signing in & security" section, click on the "Signing in to Google" link.
7. The "Signing in to Google" page will load. Click on the "2-Step Verification" option on the right-hand side.
8. The "2-Step Verification" setup page will load. Click on the blue "Get Started" button.
9. You will now be redirected to the CUI Employee Gmail login portal. Type in your credentials and log in again.
10. Devices may show up under the "Get Google prompts on these devices now" section if you have previously configured your CUI G Suite account on them.
You can choose to receive a secure notification to one of those devices or select "Choose another option."
If you select "Choose another option", a drop-down menu will appear. Select the "Text message or voice call" option then click the blue "Try It Now" button.
11. You will now need to enter a phone number to receive a numeric code from Google to continue the setup process. By default, the code will be sent via text message. If you would like a call instead, select the "Phone call" option. Once you are done, click the blue "Next" button.
12. Once you receive the code, enter it into the "Enter the code" field. Click the blue "Next" button.
13. If the code was entered correctly, you should received verification that it worked. Click the blue "Turn On" button to finalize the 2-Step setup.
14. The "2-Step Verification" page will load, showing the status of 2-Step Verification as "ON".
